2000 – 2009

Several themes preoccupied me during this decade. As my children were young I painted a lot of images to do with dressing up and play.

I also did several series where fantasy characters met each other, such as Alice and the Infanta and angels meeting fairies. Another influence was a trip to Iceland. This sparked of a series of landscape paintings based on the stark quality of the glaciers and the mystery of swimming at midnight in outdoor pools. It was in this decade that I taught myself the technique of egg tempera.
